Learning and Education

Taman Tugu will consist of educational zones which will provide an interactive learning experience that emphasizes on environmental awareness, education and appreciation.

The Rainforest Education Center, will give visitors the opportunity to learn and appreciate nature better whilst gaining greater environmental awareness as they delve deeper into the flora and fauna of the unique Malaysian rainforest ecosystem of Taman Tugu. There will also be a 800-meter education walking and running trail as well as a 500-meter walking trail along a stream. The above attractions are a collaborative effort withthe Malaysian Nature Society (MNS).

Visitors will also be able to have an aerial view of the park by walking across a 80 meter long hanging bridge. They can also head to the Learning and Innovation Centre, which is for the public.

Family and Community

The Family & Community Zone will include various Malaysian F&B outlets and food stalls that will operate 18 hours a day. There will also be an event space with a capacity for up to 1,000 people which overlooks a man-made lake. There is also an outdoor event space which is available for rent for weddings, corporate functions or other outdoor events.

Around the man-made lake, there will be a 500-meter track for visitors to walk, run or jog around the lake. There will also be both wet and dry playgrounds for children of all ages. Within the grounds there is a Hindu Temple reconstructed and enhanced within the site – bigger by 30% in size – in a way that it can continue to serve the community moving forward.

For the convenience of its visitors, parkings for cars, busses and motorcycles is provided and a surau will be also open to public.

Outdoor Adventure

Infrastructure and attractions geared towards promoting a healthier, outdoor lifestyle will make up the Action and Adventure Zone. The action area may include gravity based activities such as zip line and rope courses (based on the voting by the public). For the hikers, there will be 800-meters of trails within the forest to conquer.

Students and young people can make use of the camping area relocated within in the Action and Adventure zones while the public can attend events at the open air event gazebo and climb up the observation tower to view Kuala Lumpur’s skyline.

Historical Sites

Taman Tugu, located next to the historic Tugu Negara, is also home to other historical sites within the taman grounds such as the Offices of the Malaysian Institute of Strategic and International Studies (“ISIS”) and also the club house for the Persatuan Perkhidmatan Tadbir dan Diplomatik (PPTD).
